TRIANGLE ROOF LOFT

Triangle Roof Loft is located in a modest neighborhood that has remained under developed until not long ago. The site is sandwiched between matchbox high-rise apartments to its north and to-be developed low-rise housings. The irregular shape of site and zoning regulations interestingly formed the building envelope. Within the allowed building envelop, we maximized building volume rather than just maximized floor area by placing two double height lofts in its north. This idea in turn freed its north façade and allowed each façade to respond proportionally to its surroundings.
